CHARLOTTE: Hello and welcome to today's podcast, I'm your host Charlotte, and we're excited to be talking about the fascinating world of post-production sound. Joining me today is Alexander, an expert in Foley recording and editing and one of the instructors for our Postgraduate Certificate in The Art of Foley Recording and Editing. For those who might be new to the world of Foley recording and editing, can you tell us a bit about what it entails and why it's such an exciting field to be in? ALEXANDER: Absolutely. Foley recording and editing is the process of creating and recording custom sound effects for film, TV, and other media applications. It's an incredibly creative field that requires a combination of technical skills, attention to detail, and a good ear for sound. As a Foley artist, you get to use your imagination to create sounds that bring a scene to life, whether it's the sound of footsteps, rustling clothes, or even the creaking of an old door. CHARLOTTE: That sounds amazing. And I know that our course, the Postgraduate Certificate in The Art of Foley Recording and Editing, is designed to equip students with the skills they need to succeed in this field. Can you tell us a bit more about the course and what students can expect to learn? ALEXANDER: Yes, of course.
